January

21 – Annual Meet and Greet Membership Drive – Attend this meeting for food, music, entertainment from “Young, Gifted & Black”, and networking to bring in the new year! Those who renew their membership today receive an official membership certificate on this day only!

February

18 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – All attendess can engage in open discussion and reading from “African Psychology” by Dr. Wade W. Nobles, and it’s application to working with family therapy. Bring a co-worker!

March

17 -  Chapter Monthly Meeting – This meeting is open to all attendees discussing readings from “African Psychology,” by Dr. Wade W. Nobles and it’s application to working with and within the criminal justice system.

April

21 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – Community presentation TBA

16 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – Pre-symposium conference presentations: All student and professionals presenting at the Annual Convention in July will test out their theories and research presentations for critique, contributions and tips from our chapter. This is the absolute best place to ensure your presentations are at their best!

29- July 10 – Enyimnyam Study Tour to Ghana – Hosted by Drs. Na’im Akbar and Wade Nobles. This annual trip has taken place for over a decade and it get’s better every year. Visit www.Africadreamer.com for more info and a full itinerary.

15-22 – Association of Black Psychologists 44th Annual International Convention in Los Angeles. This years convention theme is: “From Root Causes to Sustainable Change.” Register and book your hotel today at www.ABPsi.org. Each year is an unforgettable experience! You will not want to miss it this year.

18 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – Post ABPsi convention debriefing and a community organization/ agency presentation.

15 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – Education from an African Psychology perspective.

20 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – “Internship/ postdoctoral application process and licensing” workshop. Students, bring a classmate and professors, invite your students!

November

17 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – “How to get your research published” workshop. Be prepared to take notes and make plans to get published!

December

15 – Chapter Monthly Meeting – Annual holiday potluck. Bring a dish and your appetite.
